Well it has now been just over 6 months since we landed in the UK, taking up our new roles within the Charity of International Directors and it has been a busy but exciting 6 months.
We opened our UK office on 2nd March 2015 and have been enjoying getting ourselves set up and building a UK team. We were very kindly given all the office equipment needed by Hemel Hempstead Community Church and the Clare Foundation Offices have been a great starting point for us.
As you may already be aware, we are at the stage of carrying out research for our new Missions Base in Tower Hamlets, London. We are excited for the vision that God is giving us for the community there and are currently working on a project proposal for the establishing of a ‘Dream Centre’ in the heart of that community. More information on that to follow soon.
The work in Uganda continues to go really well and John is doing a fantastic job leading the team over there. Please do click here to read some up to date stories on all that is happening in Kampala and of the lives that are being rescued and changed.
Part of our new role here in the UK, alongside overseeing Uganda and the emerging of our new London Mission Base, is to help grow awareness of the charity in the UK and to help increase our funding. As the work grows, so does the level of funds needed to help make it happen!
You may have seen that our son James and his friend Lizzy recently did a sponsored Skydive on 1st September. They did really well and have managed to raise over £2000 for the Charity. To see a short video of their jump please click here. We are very proud of them both and also a little relieved it is over and they are both still in one piece!
There is still time to sponsor them if you felt you wanted to, by clicking here.
We are excited to tell you that on Sat 7th November we are hosting a Charity Concert with The Pendyrus Male Choir, at The Kings Centre in Amersham. The Pendyrus are an internationally acclaimed male voice choir. Everytime we have been to one of these concerts, they have been met with standing ovations, definitely worth a night out.
It promises to be a fantastic night and we hope that many of you will be able to come along and join us.
For more information and to purchase your ticket please click here.
There will also be a bar available, so you can enjoy an evening of music and wine. We hope to see you there.
Many thanks for all your continued support for all we are doing.
Simon and Nicola
