Mobile Medical Unit
Every week we take a doctor, a nurse and all the medicines we require with us into the slums to administer free medical care to the children. On average, we treat 70 kids each week with everything from a simple cold to severe burns and infections. We’re able to catch the symptoms of Malaria and Typhoid early before they escalate. Mamas who used to have to wait and worry as their children got more and more sick are now given hope that their children will live!
Community Health Care
Many diseases are spread and injuries occur because parents have never learned how to cook or run their home in a way that prevents the spreading of disease. We have met many children with severe burns as a result of being left around cooking stoves. This is just one example of how education can help increase their quality of life.
Primary Health Care aims to teach the adults in the community issues such as hygiene principles, sexual health, first aid, parenting etc. It enables the parents to take responsibility for their lives and improve them in the ways they can.
