When we first began walking through the slums in contact time we noticed that most of the children didn’t have any shoes. With sewerage and garbage at the roadside and sharp broken objects all over the street, having no shoes is as dangerous as it is unhygienic. So we decided to give out a pair of shoes to every child living in the slums!
We’ve now done 5 sole projects, starting with giving away around 40 shoes and close to 400 at our most recent Sole Project! It’s incredible to see beaming smiles to match the brightly coloured shoes all around the slums when we visit in the next days. Check out the video on the Media page.
