Sponsorship Stories

The following accounts are the way sponsorship is having a positive impact on the children here.

Name: Maureen
Age: 10 years
Interests: Playing with dolls

Maureen is a beautiful ten-year-old girl who has been through a lot but has kept her sweet personality and kind heart. She was raised in a village 10 hours away, but recently moved in with her aunt and uncle when her parents abandoned her. As a result of village life, she had received almost no schooling for ten years. She is often seen helping out around the house and is the first to give us a bench to sit on when we pay her a visit. She loves to play with dolls and eat cake.

Maureen primarily needs school fees to enable her to have a bright future. Sponsorship will also provide clothing, food, and medical care as needed.

Please pray that Maureen would succeed at school giving her a chance at a bright future. Pray that her heart would be open to the amazing love of Jesus and that she would fall deeply in love with Him. Pray that all that has been stolen from her would be restored.

Name: Katibu
Age: 9 years
Interests: Piggy-back rides

Katibu is a gorgeous but cheeky boy who lives in Kasubi. Due to his rough upbringing, Katibu is often rough and mischievous but we are slowing watching love change his heart. Katibu’s mother died giving birth to him so he is being raised by his step mother. His father works as a builder, but pays almost no attention to Katibu. His step mother supports him and her other daughter by washing clothes and working in gardens. This is barely enough to provide for their basic needs so at the age of nine, Katibu has only attended one year of school.

Sponsorship will enable Katibu to go to school and be given hope for a much brighter future. It will also provide him with basic necessities such as clothing, shoes, and medical care.

Please pray that Katibu’s heart would be softened as he encounters the love of Jesus. Pray that he would come to know the love of an amazing Heavenly Father who will never hurt him or leave him.

Name: Joanne (8 years) and Jenny (6 years)
Interests: Skipping and singing

Joanne and Jenny are two beautiful girls living in Kinawataka slum. Their tiny one-room house is a home to 7 people. Their mother recently stopped working after she was in a motorcycle accident. Their father works when he can find random jobs, but spends most the money on alcohol, leaving the rest of the family less than £3 a week for food. Joanne and Jenny’s 12-year old uncle was the main caregiver by begging for money wherever he could find it. As a result of the burden, he has recently run away from home. Despite the hardships of their life, Joanne and Jenny have the most open hearts. They love to be held and shown affection.

Joanne and Jenny have recently begun school through our sponsorship program! They are doing amazing and being given a chance for a much brighter future!

Please pray that they would never lose their beautiful hearts, that in spite of her current situation, she would experience the amazing love and freedom of life in Jesus. Pray for a solution to the hopelessness and poverty this family lives in.
